FOUR UNDERTAKINGS

In accordance with the utmost principles of correctness, decorum, and restraint, speak.  A word spoken flawlessly gives the appearance of not being capable of sin.  When emphasis of perfection is placed on the words that we speak, our behavior seems without error or having no flaws.  Being always mindful of showing an immaculate display of verbal proficiency.

Because we were given two ears and one mouth, listen twice as much as we speak.  Never allowing ourselves to become offended by what we hear.  If the remarks of others are not absorbed, they cannot insult.  The speaker’s intentions are not taken amiss when their words deflect off of the decency of the listener.  There is power in permitting the interpretation of communication to remain with the hearer, and not in the mouth of the speaker.  Resentment, irritation, and misunderstandings are avoided in this manner of interaction.  There are no wrong impressions in the ears of a good listener.

In all that we hear without proof, no conclusion of truth can be reached.  Therefore, no ideas, thoughts, or notions are formed without evidence.  Because taking a position, for or against something, is not possible based on probabilities.  Be not in the profession of prediction.

To live our best life, requires our best effort, in all that we do.  Be in every moment as if it’s the only moment that matters.  Approach every situation encountered in life with dedicated gratitude for the wisdom comprised therein.  Success is realized when our expectancy is based on truth and the best possible outcome.  The mundane is turned into a deliberate life, when we do our best in all that we do.
