THE JUDGMENT OF GOD

Understanding the consequences of terror and destruction in the Bible.  According to the Bible, God will bring judgment onto those who cause terror and destruction in the land of the living.  This is seen in the scripture of (Isaiah 24:21-22), where it states, “In that day the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below.  They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days.”  This passage can be interpreted to mean that God will bring down the earthly glory of evil empires at the destruction of their nations, as their rulers will be slain by the Sword of God.  This is also echoed in the scripture of (Revelation 19:17-21), where it states: “And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, ‘Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small’ ” This passage can be interpreted to mean that those who cause terror in the land of the living will be judged and destroyed by God, as their kings shall be horribly afraid as they are slain by the Sword of God.

In conclusion, the judgment of God will set darkness upon the land of sleeping nations, and all of them shall be slain who cause terror in the land of the living.  God will bring down the earthly glory of evil empires at the destruction of their nations, as their rulers will be horribly afraid as they are slain by the Sword of God.

To silence the night means to quiet the darkness, to still all sound, and to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.  In the Bible, the phrase “silence the night” is used to describe the moment when God brings judgment to the land.  God will bring down the power of evil empires and render them powerless, while simultaneously stilling the night with HIS judgment.

Those who cause destruction and terror in the land of the living will be judged and destroyed by God, as their leaders will be filled with fear when they are slain by the Sword of God.  All of those who cause destruction and terror will be silenced by the power of God.  They will be completely overwhelmed and humbled by HIS greatness and authority.  In a state of awe and reverence, of understanding that God is in control and that no one can stand against HIM.

Let this be a reminder of man’s insignificance in the grand scheme of things, that God alone is the ultimate authority.  Our lives are finite and God’s judgment will come regardless of our own efforts and whether or not we are worthy.  God’s justice is perfect and we should strive to live in accordance with HIS will.

Isaiah 24:21-22
New International Version

21 “In that day the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below. 22 They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days.”

Isaiah 24:21-22
King James Version

21 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

Isaiah 24:21-22
Living Bible

21 “On that day the Lord will punish the fallen angels in the heavens and the proud rulers of the nations on earth. 22 They will be rounded up like prisoners and imprisoned in a dungeon until they are tried and condemned.”

Revelation 19:17-21
New International Version

17 “And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.”

19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.”

Revelation 19:17-21
King James Version

17 “And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

Revelation 19:17-21
Living Bible

17 “Then I saw an angel standing in the sunshine, shouting loudly to the birds, “Come! Gather together for the supper of the Great God! 18 Come and eat the flesh of kings, and captains, and great generals; of horses and riders; and of all humanity, both great and small, slave and free.”

19 Then I saw the Evil Creature gathering the governments of the earth and their armies to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army. 20 And the Evil Creature was captured, and with him the False Prophet, who could do mighty miracles when the Evil Creature was present—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the Evil Creature’s mark, and who worshiped his statue. Both of them—the Evil Creature and his False Prophet—were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire that burns with sulphur. 21 And their entire army was killed with the sharp sword in the mouth of the one riding the white horse, and all the birds of heaven were gorged with their flesh.”
