BUILDING A HOUSE

In the context of household construction and from a Biblical perspective, a woman bears the roles of a wife, mother, and house manager.  Adhering to biblical principles, she takes charge of the household as a representative of her husband and for the benefit of her children.  A woman who embodies the virtues of a Proverbs-31 woman will exercise this wisdom in building her household, resulting in its prosperous state.

Verily, the foremost priority in constructing the house is the woman’s connection to the Chief Architect thereof.  Her adherence to the Divine Blueprint is of paramount importance.  Moreover, in her position as manger, she should confide in her fellow builder, for in doing so, the structure be fortified.

The success of home building relies on a collaborative effort where everyone comes together under a structure of Laws, which govern our homes construction.  An agitated, arrogant, and cantankerous person who refuses to take responsibility and rejects instruction or correction will only disrupt progress.  Scripture tells us that a person who fails to learn from past mistakes is a fool and deserving of no honor.  It is unwise to focus on embellishments of a home while structural issues remain unresolved.  Discord among team members and defiance of the law of correction, can weaken the foundation of a home.  Acting impulsively, without considering the consequences, is not a trait of a wise person.  Only the foolish allow confusion and disunity to weaken the structure they have built with their own hands.

With God as head of the house, the management of HIS house occurs free from worry and fear and we rest knowing that problems are addressed spiritually.  Pray for discernment to not repeat past foolish choices.

Problems in a household do not solely rest on wives and mothers.  God holds the man more responsible because he is head of household.  So if it is the wife being foolish, a kind but firm man under God’s leadership has the responsibility to keep the building of his household on course. (Proverbs 14:1-3) Tells us how a wise woman builds her house.

Men who love God more than houses create atmospheres that cultivate love and respect within the household.  Wives and mothers can raise their children in this environment, all while keeping a healthy respect for the man of the house.  A house under God is a place of love, protection, and richness.

Proverbs 14:1-3
New International Version

14 “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down. Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly, but those who despise him are devious in their ways.

A fool’s mouth lashes out with pride, but the lips of the wise protect them.”

Proverbs 14:1-3
King James Version

14 “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.”

Proverbs 14:1-3
Living Bible

14 “A wise woman builds her house, while a foolish woman tears hers down by her own efforts.

To do right honors God; to sin is to despise him.

A rebel’s foolish talk should prick his own pride! But the wise man’s speech is respected.”
