Spiritual values secure our position in the midst of storms. There are times when we as children of God must be the rope that secures the position of people that may be going through a storm. Be a rope that is attached to spiritual principles, which secures our position in Christ. When times get rough for others, we can throw them a lifeline of security that is tied to us, because we are anchored in God. An anchor; be one, to receive one.
There are times when the one who is going through a storm may reject your lifeline. Allow them to make their own decisions. Maybe the source of their storm is self-inflicted, or sent by Satan. In this case, they may feel totally capable of securing their own position. Or consider the possibility that they do not view your position to be secure enough to rely upon. If you lack spiritual principles, you are not God’s gift of glory you might think that you are. If you are full of pride and arrogance, maybe it’s money that caused your own unsteadiness. Not even money can anchor you in turbulent times. How can you secure another’s position, when Satan and his demons are the source of your hurricane? There shall be tribulation until the enemies causing storms are thrown overboard.
(Job 36:33) Tells us “even the cattle know when a storm is coming”. We in Christ know that, HE can still the storm to a whisper and hush the waves of the sea. (Psalm 107:29)
Although storms in life may come from different sources, peace and calm comes from God. Sound strength comes from being anchored in the truth of God; we don’t even fear our own weaknesses. When doing life God’s way becomes routine, we avoid the storms of life. By submitting to the will of God, rough waters glide by smoothly, as if we were anchored to a rock. The righteous pray, and remain still, we grow through, and are corrected by our own storms. The raging waters have power to change us dramatically for the better. We are never the same after coming out of a storm. Pray for peace, and the refuge of a calm place.
Be wise about appointing people as advisors in your life. If they fail to secure their own position, parent their children, or are slaves to money, they can’t help secure your position. (Exodus 18:21) Find instead, capable, godly, honest men who hate bribes. God grants to us according to the riches of HIS glory, that the mighty Holy Spirit may strengthen our inner man. (Ephesians 3:16)
