We pray for Law Enforcement Officers, whose selfless dedication should be recognized for upholding safety, justice, and order in our society. Law Enforcement deserves our utmost respect and gratitude.
They are guardians of peace, poised to protect with a sense of duty and unwavering resolve. Embodied with God’s command to uphold justice and maintain order.
All authority is established by God, (Romans 13:1-4) and those who rebel against it bring judgment upon themselves. Guardians cause fear for wrongdoers, because they bear responsibility for punishment of those who do evil. These governing authorities should be seen as God’s servants, appointed to protect society, maintain order, and uphold justice. Guardians that put themselves in harm’s way to protect the vulnerable, maintain peace, and ensure that righteousness prevail.
May our prayers serve as an expression of our support and appreciation for your noble calling. (Matthew 5:9) Tells us that, blessed are those who make peace and promote harmony.
Romans 13:1-4
New International Version
Submission to Governing Authorities
13 “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.”
Romans 13:1-4
King James Version
13 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”
Romans 13:1-4
Living Bible
13 “Obey the government, for God is the one who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. 2 So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. 3 For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. 4 The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose.”
