“It Is Written” – Declaration of Faith
Some people may say, “the Word of God is still a bit unsettling”, and to you we offer the following:
It is written—not in ink alone,
But in fire upon the heart of stone,
In the whisper of wind, the thunder’s cry,
In the silence between our questions why.
It is written, not by hands that fade,
But by the hand of HIM through whom all was made.
Not carved by man, nor fleeting breath—
But by Jesus, the Word beyond death.
When the world falters and shadows fall,
When the voice of fear speaks louder than all,
I do not lean on fleeting sight—
For it is written, and that gives light.
When the night grows cold with doubt and pain,
When tears fall harder than the rain,
I lift my eyes not to the sky—
But to Jesus, whose truth will never die.
HIS name is the key, the gate, the flame,
No power on earth outlasts HIS name.
Storms may gather, kingdoms fall,
But it is written—HE’s Lord of all.
Not one promise will HE forget,
Not one prayer has HE left unmet.
HE stands where time and glory meet,
With nail-pierced hands and wounded feet.
So let the doubters draw their lines,
Let kings decree, let culture redefine—
But I stand firm in what I’ve been given:
Faith in Jesus. It is written.
Let others chase what rusts and fades,
We walk the path the Lamb has laid.
Though trials press and fires smitten—
Still we rise. Still: It is written.
Not by might, nor wealth, nor sword,
But by the Spirit of our risen Lord.
Jesus—the Lion, the Lamb, the King,
In HIM we move, we breathe, we sing.
So speak HIS Name when hope is thin,
Shout it loud when battles begin.
For in that name, all chains are riven.
In Jesus Christ—it is written.
Amen
