JUST GOD

“A Just God in an Unjust World”

In the words of (Isaiah 13:11) “I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pomp of the arrogant, and lay low the pompous pride of the ruthless.”

Brothers and sisters in Christ, Isaiah is not just ancient prophecy, it is a timeless warning. God, through the prophet Isaiah, speaks a hard but Holy truth: evil and injustice have consequences.

In this verse, God declares that HE will judge those who live with arrogance, cruelty, and pride, those who elevate themselves by stepping on others, who twist power into oppression, and who think themselves untouchable. But this is more than just a pronouncement over Babylon or a moment in history. It is a mirror held up to every generation—including ours.

This is a call to all people, in all times:
“I see the injustice. I see the pride. I see the suffering. And I will not remain silent.”

We live in a world where injustice often feels unpunished—where power is misused, where the proud prosper, and the humble suffer. But Isaiah reminds us: God is not blind. God is not indifferent. God is just.

And yes, this judgment is real. But don’t miss this: it is not without hope.
The very purpose of this warning is redemption.
God does not warn us to destroy us, HE warns us to turn us.

This is not just about what God will do to the wicked, it’s about what God invites us to do before it’s too late:
To examine our hearts.
To reject pride.
To stand against cruelty.
To live justly.
To walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).

Because even in judgment, there is mercy.
Even in correction, there is a call to restoration.

So let this be our prayer today:
“Lord, search me and know me. Remove from me every prideful way. Make me an agent of justice in an unjust world, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Amen
