WHAT IT MEANS

God is said to have imbued certain Divine virtues or attributes into humankind. These are often referred to as being made “in the image and likeness of God” (Genesis 1:26–27).

Here are the most commonly recognized God-like virtues or attributes believed to be embedded in the human spirit:

Reason and Intellect:

Divine Reflection: God’s wisdom and understanding. The ability to think rationally, discern right from wrong, and pursue truth.

Love and Compassion:

“God is love” (1 John 4:8).

Creativity:

Moral Conscience:

Capacity for Relationship:

Desire for Eternity:

The virtues God imbues in man are those that reflect HIS own nature: reason, love, free will, creativity, conscience, relationship, and the longing for the eternal.

These aren’t fully Divine powers, but glimpses. They form the moral and spiritual DNA of what it means to be human.
