HATS

Today, we had the honor of virtually visiting Atlanta, Georgia, to sit down with the esteemed Bishop Dale Bronner. The message was powerful and timely; the importance of changing H.A.T.s. That is habits, associations, and thoughts that shape the very fabric of who we are. And sometimes, in order to grow, we must be willing to change what we wear on the mind and in the spirit.

“Changing Hats”

They say, “Hats are habits, associations, and thoughts.” Worn not on heads alone, but deep in the soul, stitched into our identity, threaded through memory, passed down through trauma, culture, or comfort. But the question today is, what happens when the hat no longer fits the head God is shaping? Some of us are wearing hats of bitterness, Caps of compromise, Crowns of control, Helmets of pride so thick, not even grace can get through. And yet, we keep them on. Because they’re familiar, Because they’re safe, Because changing them feels like changing us. But saints, hear me. In Christ, transformation isn’t optional, it’s essential. (Romans 12:2) says, “Be not conformed to this world, But be ye transformed By the renewing of your mind.” That’s a hat change right there, Your thoughts must bow before the mind of Christ. (Ephesians 4:22-24) declares, “Put off your old self… Be made new in the attitude of your minds… And put on the new self.” That’s changing your associations, No longer walking in darkness, but in the light of the Lord. (Galatians 5:19-21) tells us that habits of the flesh, anger, envy, impurity, must be exchanged for the fruit of the Spirit: Love. Joy. Peace. Kindness. You can’t put on the helmet of salvation And still wear the hat of hate. You can’t claim a renewed mind While clinging to outdated labels. Sometimes, to walk into your calling, You’ve gotta change your covering. Sometimes, the anointing won’t flow until the old hat goes. Ask Saul, who became Paul. The man wore a hat of persecution, but on the road to Damascus, God knocked that hat clean off. And gave him a new mind, A new mission, A new mantle. So I ask you today: What hats are you still wearing that God has called you to remove? Is it fear disguised as wisdom? Control cloaked as leadership? Shame pretending to be humility? Child of God, HE’s not just changing your wardrobe, HE’s renewing your identity. Because in the Kingdom, Every new level requires a new H.A.T. Habits aligned with holiness, Associations that sharpen you, Thoughts that reflect HIS glory. So take off the old. Put on Christ. And walk boldly. Crowned not in man’s approval, But in God’s purpose. Amen
