“Call for Grace”

We live in a time where outrage travels faster than facts. Where suspicion can feel louder than truth. Where a single mistake, or even none at all, can spark a call for someone’s downfall. “We are not just in the day, we are the climate, the current, the crowd calling, “Lock them up!” But wait, who are we locking up? Not the violent. Not the wicked. But the voices that challenge, the hearts that heal, the lives that shine bright. Model citizens. Pillars of communities. Those who’ve walked upright, even when the path was crooked. Before we raise a gavel of judgment, let’s remember: Jesus HIMSELF was falsely accused. HE wasn’t arrested for wrongdoing, HE was arrested for doing too much right. “For they knew it was out of envy that they had delivered Him up.” (Matthew 27:18) When we call for arrest, what are we truly seeking? Accountability, or vengeance? Justice, or jealousy? Jesus didn’t call for arrest. HE called for repentance. HE extended grace. HE spoke truth in love. “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7) Instead of echoing the world’s cry to cancel, let’s amplify the Spirit’s call to restore. “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.” (Galatians 6:1) We are not judges. We are ambassadors. Ambassadors of a Kingdom built not on bars and cells, but on mercy and truth. Let’s celebrate integrity, not interrogate it. Let’s call for grace. Let’s call for understanding. Let’s call for the courage to build up, not tear down. Let’s put an end to the call to arrest. And start a movement, of forgiveness, wisdom, and radical love. “Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:13) Amen
