Overcoming spiritual strongholds, a Biblical perspective. (Ephesians 5:11) Tells us that we should “take no part in the worthless pleasures of evil and darkness, but instead, rebuke and expose them.” It is our responsibility to renounce any wicked works and bring them to light.
A spiritual stronghold can be understood to be like a fortified mental or emotional wall that has its foundation in false or distorted beliefs about God or oneself. It is a potent barrier that stymies our spiritual growth while also hindering our relationship with God. It is rooted deep into the minds of those affected, having even an influence on their emotions.
(2 Corinthians 10:4) Clearly explains the weapons of our warfare. Through the Divine authority of God we hereby cast down strongholds and they submit to God’s Divine Authority.
They are hereby removed, and the power of God’s truth will henceforth break down the walls that hinder our spiritual growth. We are renewed in our minds and are thus transformed. (Romans 12:2) Speaks to us about not copying the behavior of this world and also instructs us to be a new person with a fresh newness in all we do and think. We are free of any unrealistic expectations that are neither reasonable nor achievable, and we recognize their impact, if they were allowed to manifest.
Identify your expectations, be honest with yourself and ask God if they are reasonable and achievable. Set realistic goals and base them on your current resources and situation. Focus on that which you can control, instead of things beyond your control. Pray for power to break free from psychological prisons, superficialities, and false identities, that they shall never negatively impact your spiritual journey.
Believers in Christ, state boldly your confidences in God’s power, and with HIS power avoid ego entanglement and we hereby possess full authority over it. With the power of God’s Word, we bind and shatter spirits of falsehood that would seek to release any false identities. We rise up against any force that would seek to undermine, weaken, or pervert the grace filled identity of those of us who have been redeemed by the Blood of Christ. For we are liberated and are free from the grip of offense.
We come humbly before our God, with a plea to cancel and revoke any demonic emotional resentment that may seek to hinder or sabotage our success. May HE grant us the strength to overcome any obstacle that may come in our way. Dear FATHER, we implore YOU, HE who holds us bond, the ONE who gives us the strength to move forward in grace and forgiveness, please free us from the chains of falsehood that seeks to undermine our identity in Christ. Deliver us from the grasp of the enemy upon our heart, soul, and mind. Thank YOU for YOUR abundant mercy and grace. Amen
