CHEAP TALK

It has been said “talk is cheap until you hire a lawyer”.  What is closer to the truth is, to give your cheap talk value; you hire a lawyer to do your talking.  One thing is certain; a lawyer’s talk isn’t cheap, especially when they only tell you what you want to hear.

An opposing lawyer will allow one performing a corresponding function, to milk the client with the deepest pockets.  They eat from both sides of the table; it only matters from where the scraps fall.

Just because someone shares your faith, doesn’t mean they share your values.  The same is true for one who encourages you to fight, but they do not share your conviction in winning the fight.  They can see you get stabbed on the battlefield and will pretend they are the one bleeding.  One, who pretends to care, true nature isn’t revealed, until the worst possible time.  You look around and they are nowhere on the battleground.  Yelling from the sidelines, “it was always your fight, I just tried to help you realize your need to do so.”

This is a time when protecting our hearts from ungodly influence is crucial.  Do not be instigated into making false accusations, fighting an expensive battle, to give value to cheap talk. The Holy Scripture tells us, (Numbers 12:1) that Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses.  Read the chapter to understand why they did so.  But they both failed to realize that Moses was the very first man to have Godly Wisdom downloaded to a tablet. (Exodus 31:18)

Instead of being coached into a reaction to our discomfort, with patience, allow that hurt to be useful.  Let it give way to love and laughter, because such gifts are priceless.
