To sleep with the enemy is not just a movie title, but also a reality. The enemy is not just an exterior foe, in today’s society the adversary dwells very close. So close in fact that we can see the whites of their teeth as they smile with a falsehearted smirk. They are in the workplace; house next-door, church, and at times resting beside us.
“Action must be taken to counteract a danger or threat.” Problems can give rise to countermeasure against being subdued by enemy plots and plans. Nothing can hide in the dark, or in plain sight, from prayer. Prayer is a remedy, antidote, and/or corrective cure. It spiritually solves a problem relating to dispute in an adequate technique without becoming distressed, thereby negating another opposing act.
As the world arrives at a place we were forewarned about in scripture, treachery is common among people. It has become so usual that it is best to operate our lives on the side of caution, than to assume that most are in our best interest. There was a time when co-workers, neighbors, pastors, and/or spouses could be trusted to have our best interest at heart when relied upon in times of sickness or slumber. It was once more common that people could be relied upon to make decisions on our behalf without having an improper motive or intent to profit at the expense of our weakness. It does not matter their relationship, the world is now full of schemers, who will plot on a parent, sister, or brother. This kind of mentality places a co-worker, neighbor, parishioner, or spouse on the lower end of the totem pole of honor and regard.
More can be entrusted to, and accomplished with, a stranger with a Godly heart to do the correct thing in all situations. A poor outsider, who is inspired of God, can get more accomplished than a wealthy insider of a corrupt heart. For a true caretaker is attentive over that which they have been given charge over. Being encouraging in every way, which shapes the young and restores the weak.
However, it is not our choice to whom we are kin, but we can take countermeasures to ensure that we select wisely those that we are allied. Godly people allowed into our spheres of influence are a blessing; corrupt allies with evil intent are a curse.
Being at peace with our decisions is a position of power and that which grows is what is given the most attention. Be careful not to allow corrupt people to direct our focus on life’s mildew; for what will grow is more mildew.
Pray and allow God to make our decisions, for He will bring the correct people, even a stranger at the appropriate time, as a countermeasure for those of a corrupt heart born as kinsfolk. As we age, also pray that we have the ability to perceive family who are true at heart, that will stand-down, in an effort to honor the requests of those involved and concerned. Be an encourager that will advocate and celebrate with, and for others, in the name of Jesus.
