Brothers and Sisters, God in HIS wisdom created the earth, and in Genesis HE declared: “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, …; to you it shall be for meat.” (Genesis 1:29) This is not only about nourishment of our bodies but also about stewardship of creation and care for our health. Let us consider some of the healing herbs God has made, what science affirms about them, and how they point us back to God, our ultimate healer. Dandelion Leaf and Root Yarrow Lemongrass Burdock Root Elderberry Hibiscus Clover Scripture affirms that God gives the herbs for food, and “every green herb” was provided for nourishment. (Genesis 1:30) We are to steward creation, and part of that stewardship is honoring the gifts HE has placed in the earth, using them wisely, safely, with knowledge. God is also our spiritual healer: while herbs can help our bodies, HIS Word renews our minds, transforms our hearts, cleanses our souls. (1 Peter 2:24) reminds us, “by HIS wounds you have been healed” Let us pray: Heavenly FATHER, We thank YOU for the beauty and abundance of YOUR creation. YOU have given us herbs and plants to sustain our bodies, to heal, to comfort. Grant us wisdom to use them with discernment; humility to depend on YOU for deeper healing and gratitude for both the scientific knowledge YOU allow us to discover and the eternal truth of YOUR Word. May our bodies be vessels of health, our minds renewed, and our lives witness to YOUR goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen
