“More With Us Than Against Us”

“Lord, open his eyes so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:17) Throughout history, from Genesis to Revelation, God’s Kingdom has been filled with faithful servants, some named, most unknown. Prophets, priests, shepherds, mothers, martyrs, missionaries, intercessors, we are not few. And though the world may seem dark, we must remember this eternal truth:

“There are more of us than there are of anything else.”

In (2 Kings 6:15–17), the servant of Elisha sees the enemy armies and panics. But Elisha prays, and suddenly the servant sees: angelic forces, chariots of fire, surrounding the enemy. God did not just send some help, HE sent more. This vision confirms that the heavenly host outnumbers the enemy. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” (2 Kings 6:16).

God’s Angels Are Innumerable:

The Bible doesn’t give a fixed number of angels, but instead describes them as countless, mighty, and innumerable. “You have come… to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly” (Hebrews 12:22). “Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.” (Revelation 5:11). These passages don’t just imply a large number; they declare an army so vast it surpasses human comprehension.

The Kingdom Has Always Been Growing:

Jesus taught that the Kingdom is like a mustard seed, small in the beginning, but becomes the largest of garden plants (Matthew 13:31–32). HE also said: “I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18). From the Garden to the Cross to the present, countless Kingdom servants have lived and died in faith. You are part of a cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1). We often think of God’s people as the minority, but history tells a different story. For every tyrant, there were ten thousand faithful. For every persecutor, a remnant that refused to bow. The Church endures, the Gospel spreads, and the numbers multiply.

We’re Not Alone — We’re Surrounded

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4). Let that settle into your soul: We are not outnumbered. We are not abandoned. We are not defeated. We are backed by an eternal army, led by the King of Glory, and empowered by the Spirit of God.

Stand Firm — You Are Not Few:

So, when you feel outnumbered in a broken world, remember this: “There are more of us than there are of anything else.” There are more angels than demons. More Kingdom servants than traitors. More prayers than curses. More light than darkness.

“Countless”

They stood with torches in ancient nights, And knelt in caves with trembling lights. From martyr’s blood to preacher’s pen, The Kingdom marched through fire again. You are not alone, don’t fear the dark, The stars still shine, the angels hark. We are the many, not the few; And Heaven’s host still fights with you. Amen
