Scripture tells us what will happen in the last days but God lives beyond man’s earthly time realm. Although to man it seems like we have been here forever but to God, it could have been just a blink of an eye.
2 Timothy 3:1-10 speaks about there being perilous times in the last days. That could mean dangerous, extreme, unsafe times will come. It goes on to say that men will be lovers of their own selves. That can be understood to mean that men will love other men instead of women, or it could mean that men will become consumed in self-conceit. This Scripture further states that men will be covetous, boasters, and proud. We do not have to look very far to see that jealousy and envy is at an all time high. Both men and women proudly display parts of their bodies never intended for public viewing. Today, the name of God is used in the same sentences as profanity. Young children are defiant, unappreciative, and immoral.
The Greek word for natural affection (stergeo) refers to the love that members of the same family have for each other. Today, members of the same family fight like strangers who hate one another. Now days, expressing affection one to another comes by way of a text message which can seem unnatural.
It has become common for leaders of nations to break treaties entered into without a second thought. Also, common are liars who falsely blame the guiltless. To be incontinent today is not just lacking control over urination or defecation; it speaks more toward lacking self-restraint or being uncontrolled. Atheist today is not just someone who lacks belief in the existence of God, but they are more haters of good people that do love God.
In these current times, people who have a love of money, betray principle, friend, and country with little conscious consideration for their actions. They sellout to the enemy as if intoxicated on their own haughty self-righteousness. These are the days of lovers of pleasure who delight in being praised more than they enjoy loving and praising God. Creating their-own form of godliness while denying God’s power. For denial is powerful. There was a time when the blind led the blind, however today the misguided are leading our guides.
Men of unethical thoughts acquire learning while never coming into the full knowledge of truth concerning faith. Being of reprobate minds, they resist truth and the virtues of God, clinging instead to lies. Making wrongs right, and what is right wrong, in their own sight. Maybe man has reached a point in history that he can advance no more as his foolishness is apparent to all. If this is so, then perhaps these are the last days.
2 Timothy 3:1-10
3 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,”
Proverbs 4:2
2 “For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.”
2 Timothy 3:16
16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
Job 32:8
8 “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”
