MEND OR BREAK

A relationship with someone can mend the brokenhearted or break ones wholeness.  An indication that someone is good for you, and are a mender, is a feeling of warmth that is felt from his or her unpretentious embrace.  Laughter is shared between you both from conversation concerning mundane topics.  There are feelings of approval and agreement associated with the touch of the right person against the skin of their significant other.  Even their scent offers a sense of serenity, as if they were a type of physician over whatever ails you.  We experience a peaceful night sleep while lying beside one God has sent to serve as our true companion.  Seasons of lack are bursting at the seams with fulfillment when spent in the company of the right person.

On the other hand, we can enter into a relationship that just feels wrong, no matter how ornate it appears to the world.  So wrong in fact, that a touch from that person is cold and hollow.  There is nothing in common between the two, even in a sprawling house of many rooms.  One person finds the corner of a rooftop just to avoid sharing a room with the other.  These people are opposite to the point of not only withholding affection from one another, but encouragement and praise of any type as well.  We become detached from our true self when we ignore our personal despair over an indefinite period of time.  Especially when we endure mistreatment under rationale of monetary benefit.  Only to ultimately realize that a piece of you dies with each passing day.

However, it is a liberating sensation to come into a loving relationship after experiencing the depths of an insensitive one that took us to the edge of brokenness.  We are mended by love and gain a new appreciation for God’s most precious virtue.  A man is made strong and a woman lives comfortably within the reassurance of a loving companion.  They both feel appreciated to have been loved fully, at least once in a lifetime.  There is no better feeling than to share your love with another who shares theirs with you.

God is love; give your love to Him, for He has already demonstrated His love for you.  This makes loving others easy, with no sorrows added.

John 13:34-35

Ephesians 5:1-14
New International Version

5 “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a] Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said:”

Ecclesiastes 9:9
