RECOUP

This title is a strong, hopeful word. It validates the reality of what’s been lost or damaged, and the active process of regaining it, with God.

“Teach Yourself Safe”

When you’ve lived in fight-or-flight, peace don’t come just ‘cause it’s night. Rest doesn’t settle just ‘cause you’re tired. You lay down, but your soul’s still wired. See, trauma trains the brain to stay ready, Heart locked in a sprint, though the ground stays steady. You’re safe now, but your nervous system didn’t get the memo. You’re walking through grace, but still flinching like it’s ghetto. So what do you do when the war is over but your mind’s still marching like a soldier? You teach it. You disciple it. You don’t demand peace, you invite it. Softly. Gently. Like a Shepherd with His sheep. Like the Spirit through the deep. Not in shame, not in speed, but in rhythm with the King of Peace. You say: “Soul, you’re safe. You’re seen. You’re home. Not in theory, but in flesh and bone.” “The Lord is your refuge. Not just in doctrine, but in dinner table silence, in bills paid on time, in holding your child and knowing: ‘This cycle ends with me.’” “The Lord is your refuge. Not just on Sundays, but when panic creeps in on a Tuesday. When flashbacks hit on a Thursday. When you wake up crying on a Monday.” “You’re safe now. You’re safe now.” “And even if you don’t feel it yet, HE is still faithful.” You teach your soul the language of safety. A Holy rehab. A Spirit-led therapy. So disciple yourself, not with a whip, but with a whisper. Not by force, but by the familiar voice of your Father saying: “Peace. Be still.” “You’re not in Egypt anymore.” “I brought you out, to bring you in.” Amen
