ROOM SHOOK

“When the Room Shook”

Prayers that make walls tremble, (Acts 4:31). This is the picture I see when this verse speaks through me.

We were hiding.
Not in caves or corners,
but behind questions and quiet prayers,
hoping maybe fear wouldn’t find us there.
See, the world outside was loud,
with threats, with pressure,
with voices trying to shut down the message.
And we?
We felt small.
Faith flickering like a match in a storm.
Still lit, but barely.

So we did the only thing we knew.
We prayed.
Not for safety.
Not for silence.
But for strength.
For something deeper than comfort,
we asked for courage.
Not the fake kind you post online,
but the kind that stands when standing costs you something.

And that’s when it happened.
The room shook.

I’m not talking about a metaphor.
I mean the floor beneath our feet trembled,
the walls caught a Holy rhythm,
and we knew,
God was in the room.

But the real shift?
Wasn’t in the ground.
It was in us.

See, God didn’t come to calm the chaos outside,
HE came to calm the chaos inside.
Didn’t change our enemies,
but changed our energy.
Didn’t remove the fight,
HE just made us fearless in the middle of it.

We opened our mouths and truth came out,
not hate,
not hype,
but hope.
Words with weight,
not to crush, but to carry.
Words that reached across lines,
across shame,
across silence.

And maybe your world hasn’t shaken yet.
Maybe you’re still waiting.
But let me tell you,

When you stop praying to escape,
and start praying to endure,
when your prayers stop asking for a way out
and start asking for a way through,

That’s when things move.

So yeah, we prayed.
And the room shook.
But more than that, we did too.
