SALVATION

What Is Salvation? Salvation is not a mere religious idea; it is the heartbeat of Holy Scripture and the core of God’s redemptive purpose for humanity. According to historic, biblical Christianity, salvation is the Divine act of God delivering sinners from sin and its eternal consequences, not because of their merit, but solely by HIS grace, through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9). The Bible declares that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). This sin is not just a moral failing; it is a rebellion against the CREATOR that earns the penalty of death, both physical and spiritual (Romans 6:23). The human race, from Adam onward, is alienated from God, incapable of restoring itself (Psalm 51:5; Isaiah 59:2). Thus, salvation is not self-attained; it must be Divinely given. Enter Christ. Jesus, the Son of God, took on flesh (John 1:14), lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), and died as a substitute for sinners (Isaiah 53:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21). HIS death satisfied Divine justice, and HIS resurrection conquered death itself. In HIM, the gift of eternal life is freely offered. But this salvation is not automatic. It must be received through faith, a wholehearted trust in the finished work of Christ, not in our own works or righteousness. This faith is a gift itself, born of the Holy Spirit’s regenerating power, and results in a transformed life, what Scripture calls sanctification. To be saved is to be justified (declared righteous before God), adopted into HIS family and destined for glory, an eternal life in the presence of God (Revelation 21:1–4). In sum, salvation is God’s grand rescue, HIS initiative, HIS work, HIS gift. It is the central message of the Bible and the ultimate purpose of God’s redemptive plan for humanity. As Scripture proclaims: “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people…” (Titus 2:11) Have you received it? Amen
