A disciple can be defined, “one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrine of another.” The word “Discipleship” is an intentional undertaking to equip believers with the Word of God in the Christian sense, to be more Christ like. To mentor another in their faith, through accountable relationships because Jesus has commanded us, whether we feel worthy, gifted enough or not. When obedient, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to do God’s will.
Our Heavenly Father sent HIS Son Jesus to this world for the purpose of establishing the Kingdom of God on earth, through His death. When we are led by the spirit of God and become disciples for Jesus, we accept the honor of being a trusted scholar who manages assets of His trust and can be viewed as a trustee. In the establishment of His father’s Kingdom, becoming more of an estate planner. Leading others to the Holy Gospel for the salvation of their souls is comparable to working with Living Trusts.
We must be mindful of the fact that a disciple is merely one who spreads the doctrine of another. With that, true discipleship must always be vigilant concerning the doctrine that we spread. For many false prophets have been dispensed out into the world spreading deceptive doctrine. A disciple literally follows somebody hoping to ultimately become like them. To be like some of these immature, zealous, and false prophets is not in God’s plan for you.
True Jesus Christ discipleship will always counsel others to read scripture and chase after God, and not so-called prophets. For true discipleship plant seeds of faith and hope in God, and will not redirect worship towards evil men or false doctrine. Christian disciples are believers in Christ who emulate Christ like conduct as a representative for others to follow. They are first followers who have exercised faith. Being used by the Holy Spirit to draw others straight to God Himself. In 1 John 4 scripture tells us to, “try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
God desires for us to want Him, as Ruler over our lives, will personally direct us into His will. By accepting Him as our Abba Father we are simply saying to God, I will follow you.
When we make ourselves the ultimate authority of our own lives, there is no intimate connection to the Father and we will not experience His authority. When we operate in His will, He connects us with other people with a Divine purpose.
True children of God; please go back to scripture, and enter into the world planting seeds of discipleship. When our focus is on spreading the knowledge of God’s Kingdom and not our own matters, we are sowing seeds on behalf of others. In this Christ like approach to life, God takes notice, and calms the seas of our troubles. Amen
1 Corinthians 11:1
11 “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
Acts 2:38
38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
1 John 4
4 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”
