Have you ever told a story about yourself to somebody, and they looked at you and said, “You know that sounds crazy, right?” Though it really happened, it’s not until that very moment you realize, that it does sound crazy!
Allow crazy encounters to reside in the past, for it assumes a bewildering nature when recounted in times ahead. In (Philippians 3:13-14) Apostle Paul addresses the believers in Philippi, he encourages them to forget what is behind and move towards what is ahead that’s calling them heavenward. Let go of past mistakes or experiences and focus on the future and the goals set by God.
Sounds crazy that Holy Scripture speaks of bringing about separation because truth brings about separation. God said that following Jesus and proclaiming the truth might cause division and conflict, even within close relationships, (Matthew 10:34-36). Our worst enemies will be right in our own homes, some may accept the truth while others may reject it.
The advent of the Internet has allowed everyone to have an opinion and the ability to express it, irrespective of its truth. Truth and untruth colliding within a household, can lead to conflict and division between family members. Different beliefs, perspectives, and understanding must separate itself from truth.
Though it seems unfathomable, it remains a stark reality that those we hold dearest can, at some point, unexpectedly transform into our most formidable adversaries. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it?
Philippians 3:13-14
New International Version
13 “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14
King James Version
13 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14
Living Bible
13 “No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.”
Matthew 10:34-36
New International Version
34 “ “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn
“ ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— 36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ ”
Matthew 10:34-36
King James Version
34 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”
Matthew 10:34-36
Living Bible
34 “ “Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! No, rather, a sword. 35 I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— 36 a man’s worst enemies will be right in his own home!”
