VOW vs. PROMISE

The Bride of Christ is the church.  If there be a bride, most certainly a vow was made. A Sanctified vow of this kind is unbreakable.  This vow is a deliberate, free promise, an act of devotion that is made for sake of a greater good.  In the spirit realm there are covenants we make with God that are sealed by an eternal vow of obedience in the presence of a heavenly court watching.  The closest thing to it in the natural evokes thoughts of a wedding.  Maybe this is from where the expression, Bride of Christ, was derived.

Between people, marriages are basically promises that are performed in the presence of a Justice of the Peace.  Which are appointed or elected officials who sit on the lowest of the state courts, hearing minor civil matters.  Nevertheless, they preside over promises between individuals that carry a lot of weight when spoken, one to another.  This promise is meant to mirror the promises God made to man.  To man, be made promises, but vows are made to God!

God sent HIS Son to earth through Gospel covenant, and the institution of a church community, HIS bride, that HE deliberately and freely chooses commitment to.  HE is devoted to humanity, our peace, unity, and redemption.

The enemy too, makes promises to man.  In his role of imposter, mimics God, and offers worldly gifts in exchange for a vow to himself.  He too, considers a vow to him as unbreakable, so be vigilant not to make one. Remember that evil deals treacherously with his wife.

Moses pointed straight ahead where a Pillar of Light glowed brightly, but without flame.  He told the people, “The sign of the Presence, by night the Pillar of Fire, by day, a cloud, to guide us out of the Wilderness into the Promised Land.”

Kingdom Workers, we make our vow to God as HIS servant, for a life in HIS eternal presence.  Our Kingdom assignment is for the proliferation of the image of God, our Holy FATHER.  AMEN
