Why we write; to write is one’s record of ever living on earth. Throughout the annals of time, there have been many lives on earth unnoticed and unrecorded by the annals of history. Our writings describe a perspective of the times in which we live. For the same reasons we write, we read, knowing that anything we sign is a record that we were here.
Many people are remembered more for what they have written than anything else. We write, but can it be trusted as an accurate description of events? Writings, which will serve as a record in history, long after death.
Everyone is a composer and wield the power of words. The responsibility lies in the impact of our words/writings on the minds, emotions, and values of our readers and listeners. We hold power to shape perspective and ignite change through our words/writings. What comes with the power is a duty to use language as a tool to educate, inspire, and accurately document the human condition.
Give voices to the voiceless of those who lived during your time, use your words to elevate humanity and not merely as a means of self-expression. Leave an unblemished record of the time spent here on earth, for the future will judge what we write. Even words used on Social Media, write them that they might be the last post, text, or tweet you’ll ever make, and could be what is looked back on in time.
Use words that accurately reflect who you are and describe what is being prevailed upon you by life. The kinds of words that will remain appreciated and cherished, leaving an indelible mark, long after you are gone.
